Northwest Christian Men’s Soccer Forfeits Two Matches
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University men’s soccer program has forfeited two matches following a self-reported violation of an ineligible player being used. The penalty was announced by the Cascade Conference office on Friday morning.
The violation stems from the player not sitting the required one match following the accumulation of his fifth yellow card on Oct. 6. The player then participated in five matches following his fifth caution, which resulted in one win, three losses and one draw for NCU.
The two matches forfeited are a 0-0 tie with Warner Pacific College on Oct. 9 and a 1-0 win over Northwest University on Oct. 20. The Cascade Conference standings have been adjusted to reflect the forfeitures.
By soccer sport rule, the involved student-athlete and the head coach will serve required two game suspensions on Oct. 27 against Concordia University and Nov. 3 against Corban University.
