Red Lion Players of the Week Announced

The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 1-7.
Women’s Soccer- Defensive
Tori Talbutt from Concordia has been chosen the Red Lion Player of the Week for Women's Soccer-Defense for the week of October 1-7.
Talbutt, a senior, from Boise, Idaho helped CU extend its shutout streak to three straight matches with the Cavalier’s posting 2-0 wins over Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon. Talbutt came up with four saves last week while lowering to 0.36 goals against per game, a rate ranked No. 5 overall in the NAIA. For the season, Talbutt has allowed just three goals in 873 minutes of action.

Women’s Soccer- Offensive
Northwest’s Acacia Johnson has been chosen as the Red Lion Women's Soccer-Offensive Player of the Week for October 1-7.
Johnson, a sophomore from Puyallup, WA. scored three goals against Corban leading the Eagles to victory. NU also defeated NCU on the weekend.

Men’s Soccer-Defensive
Northwest’s Joe Galbraith has been selected as the Red Lion Player of the Week for Men's Soccer-Defense for the week October 1-7.
Galbraith, a junior from Whitefish, Mont. had ten saves, with seven coming in the second half to help the Eagles defeat Corban 2-1.

Men’s Soccer-Offensive
Concordia’s Jared Brace has been chosen as the Red Lion Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for October 1-7.
Brace a senior from Vancouver, WA. scored two goals this week to boost CU to An 8-2-1 record. His two goals against OIT was his 8th career multi-goal performance.

Volleyball Hitter of the Week
Concordia’s Jackie Stein has been chosen the Red Lion Volleyball Hitter of the Week for October 1-7.
Stein, a freshman from Portland, Ore. powered the CU offense with a team-high 34 kills in a pair of road matches. In a five-set match in Ashland, Stein tallied a match-high 20 kills against Southern Oregon and returned with a match-high 14 terminations in a 3-0 sweep at Oregon Tech.

Volleyball Libero of the Week
Concordia’s Kelsey Kai been chosen as the Red Lion Volleyball Libero of the Week for October 1-7.
Kai, a junior from Troutdale, Ore. recorded 55 digs in road matches against SOU and OIT. Against SOU, Kia reached for 41 digs, her second time to eclipse the 40-dig plateau this season.

Volleyball Setter of the Week
College of Idaho’s Sierra Porter, a freshman from Eagle Idaho has been chosen the Red Lion Volleyball Setter of the Week for October 1-7.
Porter helped C of I to two road victories recording 48 and 42 assists respectively against Corban and Northwest Christian.

Men’s Golf
Concordia’s Jed Dalton has been selected as the Red Lion Men's Golfer of the Week for Oct 1-7.
Dalton, a senior from Seattle, Wash. tied for third place overall out of 55 individuals at the NAIA Fall Preview held at Creekside Golf Club. Dalton fired a 2-under 70 to end the first day in a share for the overall lead.

Women’s Golf
Concordia’s Sunny Powers has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week for October 1-7.
Powers, a senior form Medford, Ore. placed sixth overall after carding back-to-back 80s at the St. Martin's Invitational last week. The field featured the returning NAIA national champion and the No. 5-ranked team from NCAA DII.
