Knights and Beacons Battle to Scoreless Tie
PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific and Northwest Christian battled through regulation and two overtime periods to a scoreless draw in Cascade Conference men’s soccer action at David Douglas High School today.
Erik Carrazco made seven saves in goal for the visiting Beacons (3-7-2, 1-5-2 CCC), breaking a nine-game losing streak to the host Knights (5-6-1, 4-3-1 CCC). NCU had lost all previous games with WPC, dating back to 2007. Drew Bonifacio made two saves between the pipes for Warner Pacific to preserve the shutout.
The Knights outshot NCU 16-4 on the day, but wasted several chances from close range and saw several headers miss by inches. WPC also earned nine corner kicks during the match, but could not convert.
