VALLEJO, Calif. - The NU men's basketball team won their second straight game in the Cal Maritime Keelhauler Invitational by defeating the host team, Cal Maritime, 78-63 in Keelhaulers lsmall gym near the water.

The Eagles (5-0) took a 40-26 lead into the locker room at halftime. NU had their best shooting nights this season as they they hit 55% (23-42) of their shots and went 10 for 20 (50%) from beyond the 3-point line. Northwest also hit 73% of their freethrows (22 of 30).

Balanced scoring was the key as four Eagles registered double figures led by Nick Crossan's 18 points coming off the bench. Michael Greene notched a double double of 15 points and 12 rebounds while Michael Russo scored 14 points.Ryan McIntosh contributed 10 points.

NU's defense limited Cal Maritime to 36% (20-56) shooting on the night as they shot a cool 8 for 23 (34%) from the 3-point line. The Eagles dominated the rebounds with a 32-19 edge.

CSUM (1-1) was led by Grant Blaser's 11 points and Jaquai Wiley scored 8 for the Keelhaulers.

NU coach John Van Dyke said, "Great team win. I loved our effort and poise tonight."

The Eagles will return home and will host Evergreen in non-conference contest on Tues., Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Pavilion.
