LA GRANDE, Ore. – As announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), four Cascade Collegiate Conference women's volleyball players have earned the distinguished honor of being named as part of the Capital One Academic All-District ® team thanks to their work in the classroom.

As part of the College Division team in District 8, three CCC student-athletes – Corban's Katherine Salness, Northwest Christian's Chelsea McGowen, and Northwest's Sarah Stoker – joined The College of Idaho's Jessica Peacock, who was honored as part of the College Division team in District 7.

District 8 includes student-athletes from schools in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and Canada, while District 7 includes student-athletes from schools in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

The Academic All-District ® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the second year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.

In the classroom, the four student-athletes have the following accomplishments...

* Salness, a 5-foot-6 sophomore setter, carries a 3.92 Grade Point Average (GPA) and is a Health Science major.
* McGowen, a 6-foot sophomore middle blocker, carries a 3.85 GPA and is a Music Industry major.
* Stoker, a 6-foot-1 junior middle blocker, carries a 3.92 GPA and is an Education major.
* Peacock, a 6-foot-2 senior opposite, carries a GPA of 3.68 and is an Education major.

Each award winner now has a chance to take home the Capital One Academic All-America ® award later this year.
