KIRKLAND, Wash. – For the second straight season, the Concordia Cavaliers and Northwest Eagles will face off for the Cascade Conference Women’s Soccer Championship but this season, the action has shifted from Portland, Ore. to Kirkland, Wash.

Northwest University won their first even Cascade Conference title this season under head coach Erin Redwine and along with the banner came the opportunity to hold home-field advantage in the conference tournament.  The Eagles used that advantage last Saturday, earning a 2-1 win over Oregon Tech thanks to a pair of goals from Jessica Oliver.

“Despite a tough preseason filled with disappointment and injuries, the team refused to give up and always kept our vision in the forefront,” said Redwine.  “They have worked incredibly hard and couldn’t be more excited to host the CCC Final.”

Concordia will be looking to win a 13th-straight conference title and a ticket to their 12th straight NAIA tournament.  The Cavaliers earned their place in the final after holding off Southern Oregon, 1-0, with the lone goal going to Alex Blalock in just the third minute of play.

"We are excited about the opportunity to play for a conference championship,” said Concordia head coach Grant Landy.  “Northwest is a quality team who is well-coached and has had a great second half of their season.   It should be an entertaining championship match."

The winner of the match will earn the Cascade Conference’s automatic bid to the 2012 NAIA Championship.  The field for the national tournament is set to be announced on Monday morning.
