La Grande, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team (13-0, 1-0 CCC) opened up conference play with a win over Concordia University (2-4, 0-1 CCC), 90-75.
Trent Roos led EOU with 21 points and 2 assists and 2 rebounds. Anthony Brown chipped in with 16 points and 7 rebounds.
Concordia’s Adam Herman led all scorers with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Anthony Holton added 12 points and 3 rebounds for the Cavailers.
The Mountaineers took a 55-41 halftime lead shooting an astounding 66% (22-of-33) from the field and 60% (9-of- 15) from behind the arc. The Mountaineers took a double-digit lead midway through the second half 72-61. From then on Eastern was able to increase their lead to as much as 17 to remain unbeaten this season.The Cavailers would shoot just 41% (14-of-34) to finish the first half.
“Despite our turnovers I thought we executed on offense well tonight,” said head Coach Isaac Williams. “The guys played tough tonight and rebounded well against one of the better rebounding teams.”
