La Grande, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon Mountaineer women’s basketball team (9-2, 2-0 CCC) defeated Warner Pacific College (3-4, 0-2 CCC) in tonight’s CCC matchup at Quinn Coliseum, 84-59.
Kelsea Hurliman led all scorers with 23 points, shooting 8-of-11 from the field and 7-of-10 from behind the arc. Nicole Redd added 17 points and 6 assist.
Chelsay Christianson led Warner Pacific with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Morgan Wolff and Aleena Cesaro contributed with 9 and 8 points respectively.
Eastern would finish the game shooting 50% (31-of-61) from the field along with 50% (13-of-26) from behind the three point line compared to Warner Pacific’s 36% (22-of-60) from the field and 27% (5-of-18) from behind the arc.
Coach Weissenfluh stated after the game, "It feels great to open up conference play with two wins. Our team came out ready to play hard for the entire 40 minutes. Kelsea and Nicole both had a very special night and an outstanding weekend. They have been working extremely hard in practice and it was great to see that hard work pay off this weekend."
