SPOKANE, Wash. - Behind four players in double digit scoring, Whitworth surged to a 77-62 victory over Warner Pacific tonight in the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

The Knights drop to 7-7 overall with the non-conference loss, while the Pirates improve to 8-2.

WPC built a 10-5 lead in the early action thanks to six points from Chelsey Christensen. However, Whitworth went on an 11-0 run in a four minute span to take a 16-10 lead and the Pirates did not trail again.

Morgan Wolff hit a three pointer to bring WP within 24-21 with 6:50 left in the first half, but Whitman pulled away to lead 37-28 at the break. Jamie Lyons did her damage in the paint for Whitman, scoring 11 and grabbing 10 rebounds in the first 20 minutes.

The hosts scored the first two baskets and extended their lead to 13 points as the first few minutes of the second period unfolded. The Knights fought back with a 9-2 run capped by three point play from Christensen brought WP within six (45-39).

The Knight shooters went cold at that point, and Whitworth pulled away and led by as many as 20 (74-54) with 4:38 to play.

Christensen finished with 26 points leading all scorers, her 3rd straight game with 25 or more points. Tori Carroll added 10 points, while Nichole Jackson continued her torrid pace in assists this season, passing for 10 more.

Emily Travis led Whitman with 14 points, while Lauren Picha (13), KC McConnell (11), and Jamie Lyons (11) also scored in double figures.
