KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2012 NAIA Women's Soccer All-America teams on Monday. The NAIA All-America committee, which is comprised of the NAIA-Women's Soccer Coaches Association officers and seven additional women's soccer coaches, select the three teams consisting of 13 individuals.

Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Mia Persson, a native of Sjobo, Sweden, has been named the 2012 Select Sport America-NAIA National Player of the Year. Persson is the third Blue Raider in program history to receive the award since its inception in 1985. The senior midfielder, who is No. 1 on Lindsey Wilson's all-time scoring list with 72 career goals in 94 matches, capped her final campaign by leading the Blue Raiders to the programs third national championship with a win over Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), 3-2, on Dec. 1. Persson ranked amongst the NAIA's top 20 in six offensive categories, including second in total goals (31), fifth in total points (68.0) and seventh in goals per game (1.24).

Persson also becomes the first four-time All-American in Lindsey Wilson women's soccer history. She was a first team pick in 2011, third team member in 2010 and second team honoree in 2009.

Embry-Riddle (Fla.) defender Tova Torstenson also headlines the group as a three-time honoree. Nine individuals earned their second All-America selection, while 28 others received their first All-America status.

Concordia had two players earn First Team honors as Hannah Kinsey and Jenna Peterson each earned honors for the first time. Northwest's Stephanie Cummins earned Third Team honors after leading the Eagles to the regular-season conference title.

The 2012 Select Sport America-NAIA Women's Soccer National Coach of the Year will be announced at the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) National Convention held in Indianapolis, Ind., January 16 - 20.
