PORTLAND, Ore. - Cold shooting in the first half by the NU Eagles led to a 35 point halftime deficit which was too much to overcome as Lewis & Clark College remained unbeaten with a convincing 94-56 victory tonight in the Pamplin Sports Center. The loss leaves Northwest still seeking their first win of the season after seven games.

Northwest would manage only 5 for 26 shooting (15%) in the first half which would lead to a 51-16 halftime deficit. Lewis & Clark would hit 42% of their shots (17-40) on their way to the 51 point first half.

The Eagles would warm up in the second half hitting 43% of their shots and would play the Pioneers to within three points, 43-40, but the 35 point lead NU spotted the Pios in the first period would be too much to overcome.

Northwest U. (0-7, 0-1 CCC) would be led by Alyssa Dario’s 12 points while Jenna Lewis finished with 11 points, all scored in the second half. Sanda Milovic contributed 8 points for the Eagles who shot 32% for the game. NU hit 10 of 14 free throws for 71%.

Lewis & Clark (8-0, 1-0 NWC) had six players in double figures led by Casey Zinn’s 16 points followed by 13 points by Kristina Williams. Kathlene Howe added 12 points for the Pioneers who hit 46% of their shots and 86% of their free throws (13-16). L&C out rebounded NU 48-41.

The Eagles return to Kirkland and will host Pacific Lutheran in another non-conference contest on Fri., Dec. 7, at 5:30 p.m., in the Pavilion.
