FULL RESULTS
NAMPA, Idaho – The Eastern Oregon University women’s and men’s track and field teams had several impressive marks Saturday at the Boise State University Team Challenge.
Robbie Haynie finished second in the heptathlon. The senior finished with 5,454 points, a new high point total in the NAIA. It was also 20 points shy of his national championship total last season when he won the heptathlon national title. Haynie’s high jump mark of six feet, 11 inches is the current high mark in the NAIA.
Alma Garcilazo won the women’s 800 meters. The senior raced to a 2:15.17 finish, the third best time currently in the NAIA. She outran a field that consisted of many NCAA Div. 1 runners. Her time was an NAIA auto-qualifying mark.
Brian Bragg set a new school record in the 3,000 meters. The senior ran an auto-qualifying time of 8:30.12. He broke his previous personal record by 40 seconds. Bragg won the event, beating out several NCAA Div. 1 runners. His time is currently 10th in the NAIA.
Asa Miller had an auto-qualifying mark in the high jump. His mark of six feet, 8.25 inches was four inches higher than his previous personal record.
Kadie Booth, Kimmy Moore, Garcilazo and La Grande’s Allison Escobar teamed up to run an NAIA provisional mark of 4:03.44 in the 4x400-meter relay.
The Mountaineers next meet is the Vandal Collegiate in Moscow, Idaho, on Feb. 18.
