RESULTS
PORTLAND, Ore. - The WPC 50-50 meet held at David Douglas HS has concluded, with several strong performances turned in including an NAIA qualifying effort from Evergreen's Karissa Carlson.
Carlson's time of 2:18.53 in the 800 meters put her under the NAIA "A" qualifying standard.
Multiple athletes from Concordia recorded NAIA qualifying and season-best marks, including Eric Whalen (54-11 1/2), Nate Moses (52-10) and Anthony Lantz (50-8 1/4) in the shot put. In the weight throw, Matt Webster was measured in 55-4 1/4 to add more than a foot to his season best. In the women’s weight throw, Sharayah Kenady launched a 51-3 1/2 for a season best while Breezy Wentz added more than three feet to her previous long in 2012.
"There were some good performances this weekend despite the cold and wet conditions," said coach Dave Lee. "Our Knight athletes had several personal best efforts, and the team as a whole continues to improve week after week. It's a fun group to coach, and the 50-50 is a fun event for that last chance to qualify for indoor nationals."
