CCC Women’s Basketball First Round Report

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s basketball tournament begins with first round games at four member schools Tuesday. The semifinals follow on Friday. All tipoff times are schedule for 7 p.m. local time.

#8 Evergreen at #1 Corban:     LIVE VIDEO     LIVE STATS 

The Warriors enter the postseason as the No. 10 in NAIA Div. 2 for the third straight week. The ranking is the highest in program history. Corban swept the season series winning the first meeting in Salem, 63-51, and the second in Olympia, 61-50. Corban is 14-1 at home this season, but the Geoducks have won two straight and three of their past four games.

#7 Southern Oregon at #2 College of Idaho:     LIVE VIDEO     LIVE STATS

The No. 20 Lady Yotes have won eight of their last nine contests, including three straight. C of I swept the regular season series with a 63-56 win at home, followed by a 55-47 victory at SOU. After starting the season 9-1, the Raiders are 2-8 in their last 10 games. College of Idaho is 11-1 inside the J.A. Albertson Center.

#6 Northwest at #3 Eastern Oregon:     LIVE VIDEO     LIVE STATS

A first round rematch from last season, the No. 25 Mountaineers welcome Northwest to La Grande. In 2011, sixth-seed EOU cruised to a win at the third-seeded Eagles. The past regular season meetings between the two have been decided by a combined 26 points, including Eastern’s sweep this season by four in overtime in Kirkland and by two at EOU.

#5 Oregon Tech at #4 Warner Pacific:     LIVE VIDEO     LIVE STATS

The Lady Owls visit Warner Pacific for the second time this season. WPC won the last meeting in Portland, 53-37, but Tech won in Klamath Falls, 71-62. The Knights have won 12 of their 14 home games this season, while OIT is 7-6 on the road. The Lady Owls are 4-6 in their last 10 games, compared to Warner Pacific’s 8-2 record in the last 10.
