CCC Women’s Basketball Tournament Semifinals All Set

LA GRANDE, Ore. – There were no upsets in the first round of the Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s basketball tournament Tuesday.

No. 1 seeded Corban University knocked off eighth-seeded Evergreen in Salem, 60-48. The No. 10 Warriors were paced by 16 points from Shayla Fetters. Second-seeded College of Idaho held off No. 7 seed Southern Oregon, 75-60. Felicity Jones scored a season-high 23 points to lead the No. 20 Lady Yotes.

Eastern Oregon, the third seed, overcame a slow start to beat sixth-seeded Northwest, 88-57. Dominique Johnson had a game-high 23 points for the 25th-ranked Mountaineers. In Portland, fourth-seeded Warner Pacific was victorious, 76-58. Layne Tucker had a team-high 16 points for the Knights.

With the four top seeds advancing the semifinals are all set for Friday. Corban welcomes Warner Pacific, while College of Idaho hosts Eastern Oregon. Both tipoffs are scheduled for 7 p.m. More coverage will follow Thursday with the release semifinal notes.
