Big Day for Knight Track at Saints Open
GRESHAM, Ore. - Despite the cold and wet conditions, Warner Pacific Track and Field opened up the 2012 outdoor season with an impressive showing at the Mt. Hood Saints Open.
29 Knights placed in the top eight in their events on the the day, and 23 athletes earned CCC Championship qualifying marks.
In addition, Tiffany Nyssen broke the WPC record in the women's pole vault with a meet best effort of 11 feet 1.75 inches.
Individual winners on the men's side included Elton Cody in the 200 meters (22.79 seconds), Jonnie Clark in the pole vault (13-11.25), and the men's 4 x 100 team of Cameron Hamilton, Elton Cody, Ka'imi Scott, and Alija Sacirovic (43.63 seconds).
"The conditions were not in our favor, but the overall performance of the team was great," said coach Dave Lee. "Week to week we are improving which is exactly what you want to see."
