FINAL RESULTS

SALEM, Ore. – Corban University's men's golf team led by senior Chris Dudley captured the rain-shortened spring season-opening Salem Collegiate Cup Monday at Creekside Golf Club.

The scheduled two-day event was shortened from 36 to 18 holes due to the amount of rain that the Willamette Valley has received over the past 24 hours. Tuesday's second and final round was scheduled to be played at Illahee Hills Country Club in Salem, but was cancelled after overnight rain and snow made the course unplayable.

On a windy and rain-soaked day in the Willamette Valley, Corban combined to shoot a 26-over 314 and leads NCAA Division III members Willamette (50-over 338) and Pacific (81-over 369) by 24 and 55 strokes, respectively.

Dudley captured medalist honors with a three-stroke victory thanks to a 2-over 74 that included a 1-under 35 on the first nine holes. The fourth-year Warrior tied his second lowest score of the season and posted his best score this year at Corban's home course.

Senior Joey Duwe and freshman Jared Lambert rounded out a 1-2-3 finish for Corban, as Duwe posted an score of 5-over 77 to go along with Lambert's 18-hole total of 7-over 79.

Rounding out the Warriors' scoring quartet was senior Michael May with a score of 12-over 84 to finish alone in seventh place, while freshmen Thomas Graves and David Patterson tied for 11th overall with identical scores of 18-over 90.

A trio of players – Willamette's Cody Plofker, Willamette's Jacob Simonson, and Pacific's Nolan Tippy – rounded out the Top 5 individuals in a three-way tie for fourth overall with scores of 8-over 80.

Corban will return to the links on Monday and Tuesday, March 19th & 20th, at the conference spring opening Concordia Inivtational beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day at Camas Meadows Golf Course in Vancouver, Washington.
