FINAL RESULTS

SALEM, Ore. – Senior Morgan McComish and sophomore Katie Baker tied for fifth overall, as Corban's women's golf team finished second at the rain-shortened Salem Collegiate Cup Monday at Creekside Golf Club.

The scheduled two-day event was shortened from 36 to 18 holes due to the amount of rain that the Willamette Valley has received over the past 24 hours. Tuesday's second and final round was scheduled to be played at Illahee Hills Country Club in Salem, but was cancelled after overnight rain and snow made the course unplayable.

As a team, Corban combined to shoot a 111-over 399 led by a pair of 27-over 97s by McComish and Baker. The aforementioned duo finished in the Top 5 individually in the 10-player field.

Co-host Willamette captured its second straight tournament title, as the Bearcats combined to shoot 72-over 360 led by medalist McKenzie Weinhold with a 12-over 84.

For Corban, freshman Maile Miyake finished in eighth place with a score of 28-over 100. Meanwhile, sophomore Caley Hubert turned in a ninth place showing with an 18-hole score of 33-over 105 to round out the Warriors' scoring quarter.

Sophomore Katie Wixon was the only other Warrior competing in the tournament, as the second-year Warrior finished in 10th place with a score of 35-over 107.

Willamette owned the Top 3 scores, as Weinhold, Nicole Smith (16-over 88) and Lettajoe Gallup (17-over 89) teamed with Mele Ana Kastner (27-over 99) for the Bearcats' score.

Pacific University of Oregon also competed in the tournament, but did not field a full team as Emily Thorud finished alone in fourth place after carding an 18-hole score of 23-over 95.

Corban will return to the links on Monday and Tuesday, March 19th & 20th, at the conference spring opening Concordia Inivtational beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day at Camas Meadows Golf Course in Vancouver, Washington.
