PORTLAND, Ore. - In his continuing efforts to build the Warner Pacific women's soccer program, coach Oscar Monteblanco announced that four more players have signed to compete for the Knights in 2012.

Monica Araujo, a 5-7 forward, arrives from Tacoma Community College where she was an NWAACC All-Region player both as a a freshman and sophomore. She finished her career at Tacoma with 14 goals scored and 14 assists. Before TCC, she was team MVP and All-League performer at Lincoln High School in Tacoma. "Monica combines aggressive play with tremendous skill," said coach Monteblanco. "She has an explosive first step and good speed on the attack, so I expect she will help our cause on the field immediately."

Also signing with the Knights from Tacoma Community College is Victoria Clemenson, a 5-6 defender. She was a two year member of the team at TCC and a NWAACC All-Star in 2011. Victoria is a graduate of Graham-Kaposin High School in Graham, Washington, where she received the Presidential Award for her academics. "Victoria is a focused and intense player who can anchor a defensive back line," said Monteblanco. "We'll become much more stubborn defensively with her on the field."

Christina Mah, a 5-5 midfielder from Lynnwood, Washington joins the Knights after two seasons at Edmonds Community College. She scored seven goals and had five assists during her college career, and was team captain for three years at Lynnwood High School. "Christina can take command in the midfield and get the ball forward for scoring opportunities," said Monteblanco. "I like her unselfishness and maturity on the field, which will make her a very successful NAIA player."

The fourth to sign with WPC is Rayssa Lira, a NWAACC All-Star from Green River Community College. The 5-0 midfielder scored one goal and had two assists in 2011 while helping the team to a 12-5-4 record. She and also participated in basketball for the Gators. Lira is from Renton, Washington and a graduate of Liberty High School. "Rayssa is a versatile midfield player in that she can deliver the ball forward with accuracy, and also reacts well in a holding role," said Monteblanco. "Her ability to control possession in the middle of the field will be a key to our success."

"We are very excited to see what these players will do for our program," said Monteblanco. "Our team speed, goal scoring, and defending will be greatly improved. Each of these ladies have a desire to complete their education and I look forward to helping them reach their goals."
