Eagles Post Good Marks at Spring Break Open
SEATTLE, Wash. - The Eagles' track & field team took part in the 23rd annual Club Northwest Spring Break Open on Saturday and posted some good early season marks and a number of Cascade Conference championship qualifying marks. The day began in cool 40 degree and cloudy weather but slowly warmed as the day went along when the sun broke through in the afternoon. The meet was held at historic West Seattle Stadium.
The field events got started at 9 a.m. in a light wind which kept the temperature cool. Luke Fischer took 4th in the javelin with a toss of 177'-5". Jason Waltman, just one week from completing a successful basketball season in Missouri with the men's team, was 6th (170-4) and newcomer Jered Leslie came in 9th (153-2). Waltman then took 3rd in the shot put with a heave of 43'-6 1/2". Waltman qualified for the CCC championships with his marks. Fischer had already qualified in the javelin in the PLU meet with the CCC's best mark this season.

Kneip then followed that with a 6th place finish in the discus (106-3) with Galart right behind her in 7th (82-1). Both of Kneip's marks qualified her for the CCC championships in May.
Lindsey Wessa just missed the 11 foot mark in the women's pole vault has she cleared a height of 10'-11 3/4", good enough for a second place finish, second best in the league this season and a CCC qualifying mark.
