Quartet of CCC Schools in Softball Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference had four schools in the second softball Top 25 poll of the regular season released Tuesday.
Oregon Tech (18-4, 3-1 Cascade Conference) leads the CCC with a No. 6 ranking. The defending national champion Lady Owls moved from last week’s No. 5 ranking. Tech split its games last week with Corban.
Corban slid from No. 16 to No. 23, after winning one of its four contests last week. The Warriors (17-7, 2-4) opened the season at No. 23 in the preseason national poll.
The College of Idaho (22-6, 5-3) climbed up two spots to No. 20. The Lady Yotes won four of their six games last week. Southern Oregon (13-7, 3-1) received one vote in the latest poll.
Lubbock Christian (Texas) becomes the third different No. 1 team in as many polls this year. This top ranking is the first for the Lady Chaps since March 17, 2009 and fourth overall since 2000. Cal State San Marcos, Concordia (Calif.), Oklahoma City, and Central Baptist (Ark.) round out the top five.
