Concordia's Moses and Kenady Named NAIA Track Athletes of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Concordia’s Nate Moses and Sharayah Kenady have both been named NAIA National Outdoor Field Athletes of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday.
Moses and Kenady earned the honors after their respective performances at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open.
Moses won on the men’s side after recording a nation-leading throw of 187-9 in the discus. The throw came in Moses’ first outdoor meet of the season and leads the next-best throw nationally by 24 feet.
In addition, Moses earned his second NAIA automatic qualifying mark of the day with a throw of 53-0 in the shot put, which ranks Moses fifth on the NAIA performance list in the event this season.
Meanwhile, Kenady broke the school record in the hammer by more than eight feet with a throw of 184-5. The throw ranks Kenady No. 1 nationally in the hammer this season and set a career best for the junior by more than 10 feet.
Moses and Kenady will next compete at the Willamette Invitational this weekend, March 30-31.
