MONROE, Ore. – The Concordia University women’s golf team claimed an 11-stroke victory at the final Cascade Collegiate Conference event of the season on Tuesday to clinch the 2012 CCC Championship. Co-Medalist honors at the CCC Championship, hosted by Diamond Woods GC, went to the Cavs Sunny Powers and College of Idaho’s Jocelyn Cracroft, both hitting a 151.

Concordia’s Sara Molyneux (pictured, above) clinched CCC Player of the Year honors by two strokes after holding off CI’s Trish Gibbens by just one shot, 155-156. Gibbens held a four-stroke lead in the POY chase after Monday’s first round. Molyneux (81-74) finished tied for third with Sarah Crofcheck (78-77=155) from Northwest Christian University, followed by Gibbens (76-80) in fifth.

The Cavaliers shot a 319-312=631 during the two-day event to hold off The College of Idaho (325-317=642). Warner Pacific took third place (350-342=692) followed by Corban University (380-369=749). NCU did not field a complete team but had three individuals all finish in the Top-11 overall.

Also announced on Tuesday was the 2012 All-CCC team, based on a season-long scoring average. Molyneux and Gibbens led the way, followed by Powers, Holly Speer (Concordia), Baylee Borchers (College of Idaho), Crofcheck, and Cracroft, who jumped into the final spot with her one-under 71 on Tuesday.

Next up the CCC teams will travel next week to the NAIA Regional Qualifier, hosted by Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California on April 23-24.
