EUGENE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University student-athlete, Brooke Randall, had the third best throw in the NAIA this season in the javelin at the Oregon Relays Friday.

Randall finished fifth in the event with a top mark of 143 feet, 7 inches. In only her second meet as a Mountaineer, she had the second best throw in EOU history. Her fourth throw of 43.76 meters easily qualified the junior for the NAIA National Championships.

Fellow Mountaineer, Jamie Murchison, came in eighth with a top toss at 131 feet, 4 inches. The freshman hit an NAIA auto-mark already this season at 135 feet, 5 inches. That mark is currently the seventh best in the NAIA and fifth all-time at EOU.

Brian Bragg finished 15th in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:57.87. The senior has already qualified for the national championships with a top time of 14:38.38, the 10th best time so far this season in the NAIA.

In Nampa, Idaho, at the Northwest Nazarene University Invitational, Robbie Haynie threw a top mark of 182 feet in the javelin. The 55.49 meter toss nearly misses the NAIA provisional mark, but qualifies the senior for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships.

The Mountaineers continue Saturday at the NNU Invite and the Oregon Relays. Live results are available from the Oregon Relays on EOUSports.com. Check the EOU Athletic Facebook and Twitter pages for NNU Invite updates.
