FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University track and field teams competed at the Pacific University Twilight meet Friday and Saturday and landed several solid marks.

Robbie Haynie established a new NAIA season best with his vault of 17 feet, 0.75 inches and missed on three attempts at 18 feet, 1 inch, which would have qualified him for the U.S. Olympic Trials. Haynie set the meet and stadium records last season at the meet at 17 feet, 3.08 inches.

Brian Bragg set a new meet record in the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:48.10. His time won the event and is an NAIA automatic qualifier. It’s the 10th best mark in the NAIA so far this season, and fifth best mark on the EOU all-time list.

Lucas Updike won the steeplechase despite falling over a hurdle with 300 meters remaining in the race. His time of 9:31.68 is 29 seconds faster than his previous personal record.

Travis Simpson won the triple jump with a mark of 43 feet, 7.75 inches. The EOU women’s 4x400-meter relay team of Alma Garcilazo, Allison Escobar, Kadie Booth, and Kimmy Moore ran the third fastest time in school history at 3:55.39 for the victory.
