MARION, Ind. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference will have a record 115 student-athletes competing at the 2012 NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships Thursday through Saturday.

The championships are being hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University, which will provide taped delay video of the championships, along with live results.

In total, the CCC will be represented by 61 student-athletes in the men’s championship and 54 student-athletes in the women’s championship. The total of 115 qualifiers passes the CCC record of 109, set last year.

Concordia, which swept the men’s and women’s CCC titles again this season, leads the conference with 34 qualifiers – 19 on the men’s side and 15 on the women’s. Southern Oregon is right behind with a total of 24 qualifiers, and is followed by College of Idaho (21), Eastern Oregon (12), Northwest (8), Warner Pacific (7), Oregon Tech (4), Northwest Christian (3) and Corban (2).

The CCC has a total of 28 top-five performance marks entering the championships, including nation-leading marks in nine events, compared to four in 2011. On the women’s side, those entering the championships as top seeds include a quartet of Concordia athletes -- Gabi Dixson in the discus, Sharayah Kenady in the hammer throw, Junia Limage in the 800 meters, and Lauren Moran in the steeplechase. On the men’s side, Eastern Oregon’s Robbie Haynie leads all entrants in the pole vault and high jump, and is second in the decathlon. Concordia’s Nate Moses and Eric Whalen led the discus and shot put fields. Southern Oregon’s Matt Battaglia owns the fastest 800-meter time.
