SALEM, Ore. – Corban University head women's soccer coach Marty Ziesemer announced Tuesday that he has signed six high school seniors to Cascade Collegiate Conference Letters of Intent for the upcoming 2012 season, including a trio of local players that features a former Western Mennonite star and Valley League Player of the Year.

This year's class of recruits includes Ashley Beykovsky (Gladstone, Ore.), Randi Donahue (Bellingham, Wash.), Janae Mansour (McMinnville, Ore.), Kaylyn Siobal (Waipahu, Hawaii), Adrienne Valenzuela (Lancaster, Calif.), and Katelyn Weaver (Stanwood, Wash.).

"This is a quality group of ladies that will be joining the Warriors," said Ziesemer. "Each of them have great work ethic, will enhance our team chemistry both on and off the field, and bring added competition and talent to the field making our team better. I am excited to see them transition to the college game and be a part of our success."

Beykovsky, a 5-foot-2 four-sport athlete, comes to Corban after playing four seasons at Gladstone High School. As a member of Gladstone's two-time 4A state championship team, Beykovsky was named 1st team all-league following her junior and senior seasons and also earned 2nd team and honorable mention all-league recognition as a freshman and sophomore. Beykovsky will be the fourth member of her family to play in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, as all three older sisters – Amy, April, and Alyssa – played at Warner Pacific College in Portland.

"Ashley will be a solid addition in the midfield," said Ziesemer. "She had the ability to find people with good passing and vision. She understands the game and understands how to win. I look forward to having her provide additional depth in the midfield."

Donahue, a 5-foot-7 all-around player, will come down to the Beaver State after spending the past four seasons at Meridian High School. A three-time all-league honorable mention recipient as a freshman, sophomore, and senior, Donahue was named 2nd team all-state following the conclusion of her senior season. Along with her high school accomplishments, Donahue also played club for Rangers Whatcom FC helping lead her team to six championships as well as playing for Eastside United out of Bellevue, Washington.

"Randi has the ability to make an immediate impact," Ziesemer said. "She is a strong player, who has excellent club experience. She will be a great addition to our team with her attitude, work ethic and mental toughness."

Mansour, a 5-foot-6 four-year player, will move across the Willamette River to Corban after playing four years at nearby Western Mennonite School. The 2011 Valley League Player of the Year, Mansour earned 1st team all-league recognition as a sophomore, junior, and senior after helping lead the Pioneers to a perfect 14-0 league record. Mansour was voted team captain prior to her junior and senior seasons.

"Janae is another player who will provide immediate depth in the midfield," said Ziesemer. "I like her work rate and understanding of the game. She will work hard to make her teammates better. I see lots of potential for her as she adjusts to the college game."

Siobal, a 5-foot-2 defender, will travel across the Pacific Ocean to Oregon after spending the past four seasons at Sacred Hearts Academy in Hawaii. A four-year starter for the Lancers, Siobal was named team captain prior to her senior season and earned All-Interscholastic League honorable mention as a defender. Along with her prep career, Siobal also played club for the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club helping lead her team to the Players Showcase Hilton championship in 2011.

"Kaylyn is a player that has good quickness and speed," Ziesemer said. "She is very coachable and I expect her to be a quality player in the back during the four years that she will play for us."

Valenzuela, a 5-foot-3 defender, comes to Corban after three years of swimming at Quartz Hill High School in Central California. Despite not playing soccer in high school, Valenzuela did compete for the Palmdale Thunder U-18 Gold club team helping lead her team to the Coast Soccer League title in 2011. Valenzuela also helped lead the Thunder to the championship game at the Toyota of Orange tournament, as well as a pair of semifinal appearances at the Nomads College and Players College Showcases in 2011.

"Adrienne is a player that will provide additional depth in the defense," said Ziesemer. "She is a hard worker, who has the potential to be a solid player for the Warriors."

Weaver, a 5-foot-5 combo player, will travel down Interstate 5 to Corban after playing four years at Stanwood High School in Washington. As a senior, Weaver was named 2nd team all-league as a midfielder. Along with her high school accomplishments, Weaver also played club for the Lakewood Legacy Lightening and Legacy Titans.

"Katelyn is a player that we feel could play a number of positions," Ziesemer said. "She is a hard worker with good speed and an excellent attitude. We are looking forward to see how she contributes here."

The aforementioned Class of 2016 will join 16 returning players from last year's team that was 11-7-0 overall, as Corban was one game away from making the post-season finishing fifth overall in the final league standings at 5-4-0.

Corban will officially begin the 2012 season on Wednesday, August 22nd, against Vancouver Island University at noon on Warrior Field in Salem.
