Eagles Add Eight Frosh for 2012 Season
KIRKLAND, Wash. – Erin Redwine, head coach of the Northwest University women’s soccer team announced the signing of eight student-athletes for the 2012 season. All eight will be freshman in the fall.
Morgan Eide (Riverside, Calif./Centennial HS), Tatyana Reveles (Oxnard, Calif./St. Bonaventure HS), Jordan Asher (Puyallup, Wash./Rogers High School), Samantha Porter (Gresham, Ore./Sam Barlow HS), Micah Wenzel (Tucson, AZ/Ironwood Ridge HS), Ivy Davison (Olympia, Wash./AG West Black Hills HS), Jessie Murphy (Mill Creek, Wash., Henry M. Jackson HS) and Chloe Beauchamp (Everett, Wash./King’s High School), and have signed letters of intent to play for the Eagles this coming season.
Morgan Eide is a senior at Centennial High School in Riverside, Calif., and will major in Nursing when she enrolls at Northwest U. this fall. Eide was team captain at Centennial and was a two-time Coach’s Award winner. She is also a member of the undefeated Slammers Soccer Club (Calif.). An outstanding student, Morgan is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and earned the Student Athlete Award at CHS three times.
Tatyana Reveles was a four-time varsity team captain at St. Bonaventure High in Oxnard, Calif., and named first team all-league. Reveles also ran varsity track and earned two varsity letters. Tatyana played for the Eagles Soccer Club and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plans on being a Psychology major at Northwest U. in the fall.
Jordan Asher attends John R. Rogers High School in Puyallup, Wash., and earned three varsity letters in both soccer and basketball. She will compete in both sports at Northwest U. Asher was first team, all-league three times (2010, ’11, ’12) and was named to the second team, all-state team in 2011-12. Jordan was a team captain in both soccer and basketball. In basketball, she was named 2nd team, all-league in 2010-11 and first team, all-league in the 2011-12 season. An outstanding student, Asher is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. She will be a pre-med major.
Samantha Porter will graduate from Sam Barlow High School in Gresham, Ore., this spring. In her freshman season, Porter was an honorable mention selection for the Mt. Hood Conference and in the next three seasons was named first team all-conference. Samantha was also named Player of the Year for the Mt. hood conference and earned first team all-state honors. She was a four year varsity starter for her team and was team captain this past season. Porter will major in Nursing at NU.
Micah Wenzel attends and will graduate from Ironwood Ridge High School in Tucson, Ariz., where she was a three sport athlete competing in soccer, softball, and track. She earned varsity letters in all three sports. She was a member of student government at Ironwood and also a member of the Student Advisory Committee. Micah plans on being an Accounting and Finance major.
Ivy Davison will graduate from Black Hills High School in Olympia, Wash., this spring and plans on majoring in Nursing at NU. Ivy earned four varsity letters in soccer at BHHS and was also named academic all-conference three of her four years. She was a second team all-league selection in 2008 and a first team all-conference team member in 2010 and 2011. Davison was also named all-area in 2010 and 2011 and was a second team all-state selection in 2011.
Jessie Murphy played her prep soccer at Jackson High School in Mill Creek, Wash., where she earned four varsity letters. She also was awarded three varsity letters in basketball, one in track and one in softball. Murphy was an All-Wesco Conference selection in 2009-10) and an honorable mention in 2011. Her select soccer club won the 2009 Washington State Championship. Jessie will be a Secondary Education major when she enrolls at Northwest.
Chloe Beauchamp attends King’s High School in Seattle, Wash., and will graduate this spring. She was a four year varsity team member and earned the Coaches Award in 2009 and 2011. Chloe played club soccer for the Northwest Nationals Premier, a U18, and Division 1 team. Beauchamp plans on majoring in Nursing.

Northwest U. finished the 2011 season with an 11-4-4 record, a third place finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and received votes in the NAIA national poll for several weeks for the first time in school history. They also played their way into the championship final of the CCC post season tournament before being edged 1-0 by 7th ranked Concordia (Ore.). Coach Erin Redwine was named CCC Co-Coach of the Year and six of her players earned All-CCC honors.
