Danielle Beltrame (Left) and Carly McIsaac (Right) Play in Washington All-Star Game
(Spokane, WA.) --Two Future Lady Owl basketball players Danielle Beltrame and Carly McIsaac played against each other for the first time last Saturday, June 23 in the Washington/North Idaho All-Star game held in Spokane, Washington.
Beltrame, Deer Park High School was chosen to represent the Washington’s East team, while McIsaac, Tumwater High School was chosen to represent Washington’s West. The future Lady Owls, who had previously decided on becoming roommates next year had never met, they had only talked on the phone and texted. The All-Star Game gave the future teammates a chance to meet in person and square off against each other on the court. The first time they were in the game together, they decided on covering each other. When it was all said and done, Beltrame scored 11 and McIsaac 12. McIsaac’s East team eventually won the game by a score of 74-70.
“What a great way for two future teammates and roommates to meet.” said Oregon Tech head coach Scott Meredith. “The fact that two of our incoming freshmen were chosen to represent their state in an all-star game is awesome, and says a lot about the type of athlete we are recruiting. They will both be outstanding Lady Owls and our fans will enjoy watching them play in the years to come.”
