KIRKLAND, Wash. - Western Washington University overcame a 2-1 deficit as they scored two second half goals to defeat Northwest University 3-2 this afternoon in non-conference competition. It was WWU’s third exhibition game of the pre-season.

Delanee Nilles scored the game winner from 18 yards out on the left side after taking Joana Houplin’s pass and passed the outstretch arms of NU goalkeeper Ivy Davison. The goal came in the 79th minute, 12 minutes after Jessica Bertucci tied the score with her unassisted goal 15 yards out from the left side. Bertucci dribbled into an open area and rocketed a kick into the right center of the net. WWU gained the early lead with Catherine Miles’ goal in at the 29:14 mark. Kim Cooper had the assist.

Northwest U. (0-4) tied the score at 1-1 with Chelsi Pennington’s goal from 9 yards out after a nice crossing pass from Jessica Oliver. The half ended with the game tied at one-all.
