SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Jed Dalton lifted the Concordia Cavaliers into first place on Monday through the first two rounds of the NCU Invitational. On the 6706 yard par-72 course at Springfield Country Club, Dalton ended day one with a combined 147 to head into the final round tied with Northwest Christian University’s Tyler Falk.

Falk had led the field by three strokes after an opening-round 72 on Monday morning, but a number of players made their move during the next 18 holes with three other golfers within striking distance of the leaders. Warner Pacific’s Andrew Johnson sits just one shot back in third place, followed by Joey Ziogas of Corban in fourth. Ziogas posted the tournament’s low round in the second round with a 71, pushing his total to 149. His Warrior teammate Jared Lambert was one shot further back in fifth place with a 150.

Concordia holds the overall team lead heading into day two with a 308-299=607. The Cavaliers sit eight strokes ahead of The University of Victoria (615) in second place and eleven strokes clear of Corban University (618) in the Cascade Conference portion of the tournament. Warner Pacific (633) and Simpson University (649) round out the top-five.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday morning with the third and final round.
