College of Idaho Women's Cross Country Selected Adidas Team of the Week

LA GRANDE, Ore. –The College of Idaho Women’s Cross Country team has been named the Adidas Team of the Week, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
 
“It is flattering to be chosen for the Adidas Team of the Week Award” stated Head Coach Pat McCurry. “ The conference is very good in all sports top to bottom with great competition and we are thrilled to be selected.”
 
The No. 4 ranked Lady Yotes defeated a field that contained a pair of NCAA Division I teams in Gonzaga and Washington State, along with three NAIA Top-25 teams in No. 6 Carroll, No. 9 Lewis-Clark State, and No. 19 Rocky Mountain at the 2012 Runners' Soul Erik Anderson Invitational at Plantes Ferry Park in Spokane, Wash. The meet also was part of the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Challenge  The C of I had their top-five finishers all in the Top-15, finishing with 44 team points - 41 points clear of second-place Carroll and 82 points ahead of third-place L-C State.
 
“I was pleased with the overall execution the ladies had of our race plan,” added McCurry. “We did not execute the plan as well a week ago and it is something we really worked on.”
 
Hillary Holt won her first ever overall individual title on the 5,000-meter course with a time of 17:23.37. Sora Klopfenstein took fourth (18:16.92), while a trio of Yotes placed tenth through 12th - Kaitlyn Gerard (18:44.96), Andi Hayes (18:48.15), and Kenna Middleton (18:48.98).
