BELLINGHAM, Wash.—All four Concordia golfers finished within three stokes of each other in the third and final round of action at the Western Washington Invitational to give the Cavaliers a ninth-place team finish.

Concordia (296-302-294—892) compiled its best round of the tournament on Tuesday with Jess Wingett (78-79-72—229) posting a par 72 for the team low. One stroke back, freshman Kolton Kyne (73-75-73—221) fired his second 1-over 73 of the event for the team's No.2 score while Jed Dalton (70-74-74—218) and Tanner Maahs (77-77-75—229) recorded a 74 and a 75 to complete the CU team scoring.

Dalton ended the 54-hole affair in a six-way tie for seventh place out of 63 competitors. At 2-over for the three rounds, Dalton was nine strokes back of the tournament champion Mark Strickland (67-73-69—209) from WWU. UBC's Josh Zhang (72-70-68—210) and Grand Canyon's (Ariz.) Mark Geddes (70-71-69—210) shared second place with 6-unders.

Kyne ended the two-day event in 21st place while Concordia's final three individuals all posted a 229. Josh Vizcaino (76-76-77—229) rounded out the CU squad with a 77 on Tuesday.

The Cavaliers finished five strokes back of Utah's Dixie State (290-299-298—887) and seven strokes back of former NAIA rival Simon Fraser (302-289-294—885). The host Vikings from Western Washington (284-284-280—848) ran away with the tourney title with a 17-stroke edge over the runner-up from the University of British Columbia (293-287-285—865).

WWU was ranked No. 9 in NCAA DII to start the week while UBC is the returning third-place finisher at the 2012 NAIA National Championships. In all, five NCAA DII teams that were either ranked or received votes in the national poll were part of the 12-team field
