EUGENE, Ore.  – The Northwest Christian University women's soccer team won their third straight game on Saturday, 2-0 over Eastern Oregon University. The Beacons improve to 2-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference for the first time in school history and stay in a three-way tie for first place.

Eastern Oregon (0-8, 0-2 CCC) out-shot the Beacons 12-9 and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks, but NCU made their tries count, with four shots on goal.

With the score tied 0-0 through most of the first half, NCU emerged in the 38th minute when Stevie Harrison broke through three different defenders and punched in what would become the game-winning goal past an outstretched keeper.

The Beacons added an insurance goal in the 60th minute when Katelyn Partridge headed in perfectly placed corner kick from Jacque Bundtrock.

The Beacons (4-4-2, 2-0 CCC) register their school-record fifth shutout of the season. Katherine Ebner (pictured) gets credit for her second win in as many starts, going the distance and making a pair of saves for the scoreless victory.

Northwest Christian will be back in action next Friday when they travel to Washington to take on The Evergreen State College at 4:00 pm.
