CORVALLIS, Ore. – Corban University sophomore-to-be Marc Gallegos ended his summer league stint with the Corvallis Knights by being named 2nd Team All-West Coast League as announced by West Coast League President Ken Wilson Sunday.

Gallegos was one of seven members of the Corvallis Knights to earn All-West Coast League honors joining first-team members Rob Dittrick of Pacific University of Oregon and Greg Mahle of UC-Santa Barbara. Stanford's Austin Barr, Oregon State's Nate Esposito, UC Riverside's Trevor Frank, and UC Riverside's Dylan Stuart all earned All-WCL honorable mention.

Earned the honor as a second baseman, Gallegos led the WCL in stolen bases with 21 and also hit .316 (49-for-155) with seven doubles, two triples and 19 RBIs in 43 games. Gallegos tied for the team lead in hits with 49, while leading the Knights in runs scored with 33.

Gallegos closed out the season on a six-game hitting streak going 9-for-24 with three runs scored, one double, and one run batted in. The All-NAIA West and Gold Glove team member would register two-or-more hits in 20 games that included three hits three times during the season.

At the conclusion of the regular season, Gallegos and the Knights sat atop the West Division standings with a six-game lead over second-place Cowlitz. Gallegos and his Corvallis teammates would fall in the WCL Championship Series to Wenatchee in three games (2-1), as the Knights competed in their first-ever Game #3 of the Championship Series.

During his freshman season at Corban, Gallegos was the team leader in six statistical categories that included at-bats (208), runs (49), hits (72), doubles (16), stolen bases (33), and assists (139). Among the NAIA West leaders, Gallegos ranked in the Top 10 in four statistical categories that included stolen bases (1st), runs scored (tied for 3rd), hits (tied for 4th), and doubles (tied for 7th).

In his first season as a Warrior, Gallegos set new program single-season marks in at-bats, runs, and stolen bases.

Despite committing a team-high 16 errors in 249 chances, Gallegos was the lone Warrior on the Gold Glove Team in 2012 after registering a fielding percentage of 0.936. The first-year Warrior ranked second among the nine-player team in total chances behind Simpson first baseman Graig Lonergan, as Gallegos became the first Corban player to win a Gold Glove since 2008.
