KIRKLAND, Wash. – No. 17 College of Idaho got double figure scoring from four players as the Yotes held off Northwest University tonight, 61-51 in a Cascade Conference contest. With the win, C of I improves to 11-2 in league play.
 
Northwest would take an early lead in a low scoring first half and maintain the lead for over 12 minutes. The Yotes felicity Jones would tie the game at 14 and after a Jones jumper with 6:35 on the clock take a 19-16 lead.  NU’s Jenna Lewis would tie the score once more with her trey to make it 19-all with a little over 5 minutes remaining in the half, but  a 12-0 run by the Yotes topped off by Laura Geis’ jumper would give C of I a 12 point 31-19 lead with a minute to play in the half. Chahala Cartman would drive to the basket and score with 3 seconds left in the period to give the College of Idaho a 33-21 lead at the break.
 
The second half would see C of I slowly pull away from the Eagles and Kylie Hardison’s driving layup would give the Yotes their largest lead, 58-38, with just 3:06 remaining in the game. Northwest would cut the lead in half with a 10-0 run and defensive pressure as freshman Jordan Asher’s 3 pointer with 49 seconds to go would make it 58-48. C of I would manage to hit 3 of 5 free throws in the final seconds to earn their 15th game of the season.
 
Sanda Milovic led Northwest (2-18, 1-12 CCC, with 14 points. A trio of Eagles, Domi Mendezona, Alyssa Dario and Jordan Asher scored 10 points each as the team shot 35% for the night. NU hit 78% of their free throws hitting 7 of 9 shots from the charity stripe.
 
The College of Idaho (15-6, 11-2 CCC) was led by Felicity Jones’ 12 points with Laura Geis, Aleah Lowber, and Katelin Shannon each contributing 10 points. Shannon added 11 rebounds for her double-double. The Yotes held an overwhelming edge in rebounding with a 50-28 margin and a game high 20 offensive rebounds. C of I hit 22 of 60 shots for 37% shooting.
