EUGENE, Ore.  – The No. 8 Northwest Christian University women’s cross country team swept the top seven spots on Saturday, posting a perfect score of 15 to win the NCU-Oregon  Tech Dual at Dorris Ranch. Paul Adams led No. 19 OIT to victory on the men’s side as they defeated the No. 15 Beacons, 26-29.

Allison Duvenez won her first cross country race, finishing the 5000m women’s course in 18:13. Sierra Brown was second (18:23) followed by Alyssa Harmon in third with a new personal best time of 18:25. Emily McLean took fourth (18:34) and Shea Vallaire rounded out the scoring in fifth (18:35). Michelle Fletcher snagged sixth place (18:50) while Ashley Kinney followed in seventh (19:10).

Oregon Tech’s top runner, Mary Matchett, came in at 19:19 for eighth place, followed by Rhonda Costin in ninth (19:32) and Samantha Lundauer in 11th (19:33). Kelly Coash took 12th (19:52) and Ashley Baldovino finished in 16th (20:31) to round out the scoring runners.

Also running for the Beacons were Delaney McMahon in 13th (20:02), Heidi Gori in 14th (20:12), Natalie Kogutkiewicz in 19th (21:26) and Macie Gale in 20th with a personal record time of 21:49.

Elissa Stoltz (17th, 20:43), Kayla Parsons (18th, 21:14) and Ashley Egbert (21st, 23:40) also ran for the Owls.

Adams, the reigning NAIA National Runner of the Week, won the race by 20 seconds, finishing the 8,000 meter course in 25:45 to lead OIT to the upset. NCU’s Alek Angeli was second, finishing at 26:05. The top-five individuals were rounded out by OIT’s Dakota Webb (26:10), NCU’s Hunter Tyler (26:10) and OIT’s Jack Roberts (26:20). Sixth place went to NCU’s Chris Zirkle (26:20), registering a new personal record.

Also scoring for the Beacons were Taylor Kraal in eighth place (27:28) and Nick Lopez in ninth (27:33). Lopez was able to secure a top-ten finish despite battling the flu.

The Oregon Tech scorers also included Kirby Garlitz in seventh (26:45) and Todd Delaney in tenth (27:40).
