Concordia’s Herman Named CCC Preseason Men’s Basketball Player of the Year
LA GRANDE, Ore. – Concordia’s Adam Herman, a Third Team NAIA All-American last season, has been voted the 2013-14 Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball Preseason Player of the Year by the CCC’s 10 head coaches.
Herman headlines a 15-person preseason All-CCC team that features 14 returnees and one newcomer. A year ago, Herman averaged 22.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. He started all 29 games for the Cavaliers and averaged 33.8 minutes per game. A native of Vancouver, Washington, Herman is joined on the preseason squad by teammate Willy Ligon, a senior guard.
Southern Oregon landed three players on the all-star team. Junior forward Eric Thompson leads SOU with seniors David Sturner and Kyle Tedder. The College of Idaho, Northwest and Warner Pacific each had two players named to the preseason team. The Eagles are represented by Michael Greene and Michael Russo while the Yotes named were Taylor Pruett and Antonio Garrett. Doug Thomas and William Sharp from defending Co-Champion Warner Pacific represent the Knights.
Corban, Oregon Tech, Northwest Christian and Eastern Oregon each has one representative on the preseason team
