LA GRANDE, Ore. – The College of Idaho’s women’s cross country team has been named the “Adidas Team of the Week” for October. 13-19, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
Led by senior Hillary Holt’s third individual title, the Yotes dominated a nationally ranked field easily winning the team title at the Inland Empire Classic meet hosted by Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. No. 2 ranked COI placed six runners in the top 15 with a score of 31 which was well ahead of host LCSC with 92 points. Senior Sora Klopfenstein and freshman Lila Klopfenstein finished fifth and sixth respectively.
The team time was the fastest of the 13 teams in attendance which included NCAA Division I Gonzaga, Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Washington State. The entries also included three top 20 NAIA teams.
The Lady Yotes will take the next two weeks off from competition, preparing to host the Cascade Conference Championships, at Brothers Park in Caldwell, Idaho on Nov. 9.
