Fedora's Two Goals Leads EOU Past NCU

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Tori Fedora scored two goals for Eastern Oregon University to lead the Mountaineers to a, 4-2, victory over Northwest Christian University on Thursday afternoon.

The Beacons and Mountaineers (8-3-1, 4-3 CCC) offenses were came out firing. Northwest Christian (3-10-1, 1-4-1 CCC) scored the first goal, 53 seconds into the match putting NCU ahead 1-0. However the lead lasted 22 seconds as Tori Fedora answered with her first goal of the game, tying the match at 1-1.

EOU took the lead at with 15 minutes to go before halftime. Kirsten Watkins found Katherine Hood for her second goal of the season. This put EOU ahead 2-1, which is the score Eastern Oregon took into halftime.

The Beacons battled right back as they tied the game at two seven minutes into the second half. Bailie Reinwald found Stevie Harrison for the goal. Harrison beat Kailey Moss in the upper left hand corner for her first goal of the season.

However, the tie was short lived as EOU scored its third goal of the game two minutes later. Mauriana Gonzalez put EOU on top, 3-2, after scoring her fourth goal of the season put the Mountaineers on top for the remainder of the game.

Eastern Oregon added its fourth goal of the game when Fedora beat Kristin Fulbright late in the second half. This was Fedora's second goal of the game and fifth of the season, putting EOU on top, 4-2.

Northwest Christian attempted two more shots in the game but Moss recorded a save and the other shot went wide and EOU won 4-2.

Eastern Oregon returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 26 when the Mountaineers host Corban at 1 p.m. Northwest Christian travels to College of Idaho to face the Yotes at 1 p.m. MT.
