PORTLAND, Ore.—Looking to keep pace with the leaders of the CCC, Concordia defeated Northwest Christian 4-0 in men's soccer action on Saturday night at Tuominen Yard.

With the result, Concordia moved to 11-4-0 on the season and 8-3-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action. With three matches remaining, Concordia trails Northwest University (9-2-0) and Corban University (8-1-2) in the conference standings. NCU, meanwhile, fell to 1-14-0 overall and 1-10-10 in CCC matches.

Concordia will remain in Portland with a pair of matches next week, beginning with an Oct. 29 contest against Evergreen State. On Nov. 2, the Cavaliers will close out its regular-season home schedule with Senior Day against Warner Pacific. Both matches are set to begin at 6 p.m. at Tuominen Yard.

Still scoreless 11 minutes into the game, play was halted due to a power outage inside the stadium. After a 20-minute delay, Concordia notched a pair of first-half goals with assists by senior Septi Danciu (Bristita, Romania/Evergreen H.S.).

Danciu found Michael Chamberlain (Wailua, Hawaii/Island H.S.) on a corner kick in the 33rd minute and returned to team up with Chamberlain on a Radcliffe McDougald (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island H.S.) score in the 39th minute. Danciu would go on to collect his third assist of the match in the second half, as Timur Zhividze (Bobrov, Russia/Evergreen H.S.) collected Danciu's blocked shot and easily tapped in the team's third goal of the night.

Quinn Sinser (Bellevue, Wash./Eastside Catholic H.S.) closed out the Cavalier attack in the 89th minute with a 15-yard strike following a miscue on the NCU defense. The four-goal output was the seventh time Concordia has scored four or more in a single match this season, upping their season average to 3.27 goals per game.

Overall, Concordia outshot the visiting Beacons 30-to-6 in the game and forced 10 corner kicks to just one for NCU.

Held to just two shots on goals, the Beacons were able to produce three scoring opportunities in the first half, including two off free kicks.

Just five minutes in to the contest, Isaiah Blake cut through the CU defense with a clear path at goal but was called offsides on the play. Later in the half, Ian Hawksford had a chance with a collection off a free kick, but fired directly into the body of CU defender Billy Fleury (Northampton, England/Southfield School). With two minutes remaining in the opener, Blake got a head on the ball on another free kick, but was recouped by CU goalkeeper Arne Niermann (Lippstadt, Germany/Privates Gymnasium Marienschule).

Niermann finished the night with two saves to earn his second win of the season. Scott Gross (Gladstone, Ore./Gladstone H.S.) closed out the Cavalier by playing the final 20 minutes between the posts.
