LA GRANDE, Ore. – Corban University used a goal with a minute and a half left in the second half to defeat the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers, Saturday afternoon. The Warriors scored two goals in the second half to down EOU, 2-1.

Corban looked as if it was going to break the scoreless tie with five minute before halftime. Allyson Irwin took a shot for the Warriors but the shot it the crossbar to keep the game scoreless.

Eastern Oregon answered that attack with its scoring opportunity of its own. Katherine Hood found Mauriana Gonzalez, who beat Kaitlyn Mendenhall for the first goal of the game and put EOU ahead 1-0.

Gonzalez’s goal was the only goal of the half and EOU took a, 1-0, lead into halftime.

The Mountaineers and Warriors looked as if they were headed to overtime but Corban had a different idea. After Gonzalez’s shot was saved the Warriors answered 19 seconds later. Audrey Sullivan was wide open in front of the goal and Donahue found her for the Warriors second goal of the game giving Corban a, 2-1 lead.
