Sanda Milovic led Eagle scorers again with a 23 points effort today Eagles Turn the Table on Mariners 10/27/2013 12:27:29 AM NANAIMO, B.C. - Northwest University, powered by Sanda Milovic's 23 points, avenged last night's loss and defeated Vancouver Island 67-49 this afternoon in the second game of their two game series. NU (2-1) sprinted out to a 49-21 halftime lead as they outscored the Mariners 22-9 in the second quarter. VIU outscored the Eagles 15-7 in the final quarter but it wouldn't be enough and Northwest earned their second win of the season. In addition to Milovic's game high, freshman Paige Burson scored 9 points while Jenna Lewis and Chanara Greene each tallied 7 points for the Eagles. NU outrebounded VIU 32-22 and had 17 assists as a team. "We had a great effort today," commented Ken Crawford, Eagle head coach. "Our team showed they could rebound from a set back and improve from game to game. We're still coming together, but it's a long season and I'm proud of the progress we've made so far." NU will now prepare for a non-conference contest with Evergreen in Olympia on November 6.
