LA GRANDE, Ore.- The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 20-26.


Eric Avila
Men’s Cross Country
 
Southern Oregon’s Eric Avila has been named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
 
Avila, a junior from Chula Vista, Calif., clocked his fastest time of the season to win his second straight race clearing the rest of the field by six seconds at the Beaver Classic.  
 
Honorable mention: Scott Minor, OIT

Septi Danciu
Men’s Soccer-Offensive
 
Concordia’s Septi Danciu has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Danciu, a senior from Bristata, Romania, scored the game-winner in the 53rd minutes against No. 20-ranked Corban and assisted on Concordia’s first three goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-0 win against Northwest Christian.
 
The goal against Corban was his CCC leading 12th and sixth game winner.

Joe Galbraith
Men’s Soccer-Defensive
 
Northwest’s Joe Galbraith has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Galbraith, a senior from Whitefish, Mont., rang up his 3rd and 4th consecutive shutouts in wins over Oregon Tech and The College of Idaho. Galbraith now had 378 scoreless minutes in goal for the Eagles and 24 saves in his last four contests

Janel Porter
Volleyball- Defensive
 
The College of Idaho’s Janel Porter has been named the Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Porter, a senior from Eagle, Idaho, had a combined 61 digs in three matches helping the Yotes to a 2-1 record.
 
Her 43 digs against CCC foes WPC and CU helped COI sweep the conference weekend and take sole possession of 2nd place. Porter now has a 51 match streak of 10 plus digs per match.

Liz Myers
Volleyball- Offensive
 
The College of Idaho’s Liz Myers has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Myers, a senior from Middleton, Idaho, Canada, led the Yotes to two big CCC wins over Warner Pacific and No. 20 Concordia.  Her 16 kills against CU were the highest of the season for a COI player in a three set match.
 
The wins propelled COI into sole possession of 2nd place in the CCC standings.

Emily McLean
Women’s Cross Country
 
Northwest Christian’s Emily McLean has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
 
McLean, a junior from Oakridge, Ore., ran the third-fastest 6000m time in school history, leading the Beacons to the team championship at the Beaver Classic, hosted by Oregon State University at Avery Park. McLean was the third collegiate runner to cross the finish line behind a pair of DI runners
 
Honorable mention: Summer Cano, SOU

Trisha Durham
Women’s Soccer- Offensive
 
Warner Pacific’s Trisha Durham has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Durham, a senior from Grants Pass, Ore., scored three goals and passed for two assists leading the Knights to a pair of Cascade Conference wins. Her brace versus Northwest sent WPC to a 2-0 victory, and her goal versus Evergreen was the game winner in overtime
 
Honorable mention: Audrey Sullivan, CRB

McKayla Madison
Women’s Soccer- Defensive
 
Concordia’s Mckayla Madison has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Madison, a sophomore from Bend, Ore., helped the NAIA No. 1ranked women’s soccer team post two shutouts over Northwest and Evergreen.
 
The effort improved upon CU’s NAIA-leading defense, pushing their goals allowed average down to 0.40 goals per game
 
Honorable mention: Kaitlyn Mendenhall, CRB, Rebekah Matteri, OIT, Allie Holterman, WPC
