LAWRENCE, Kan. — The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Friday that 296 women’s cross country student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Spring Arbor (Mich.) leads all institutions with 10 individuals on the list.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference had twenty student athletes named. Corban led the way with five recipients followed by The College of Idaho and Northwest (4), Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, Warner Pacific (2) and Northwest Christian (1).
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
