KLAMATH FALLS – Carly Meister notched her third straight double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds, and the Southern Oregon women's basketball team defeated Cal Maritime, 88-66, Friday afternoon at Danny Miles Court in the Midland Empire Classic.

Kristen Schoenherr had a game-high 17 points to go with nine rebounds for the Raiders (7-1 overall), who held the Keelhaulers to 34.4-percent shooting from the field and committed just 11 turnovers – down 15 from their Friday total against William Jessup.

Freshman wing Autumn Durand added 16 points and five rebounds for the Raiders. With Ashley Claussen injured and Allison Gida and Demi Sahlinger running the point, SOU shot 42.6 percent (29-for-58) from the field.

Sahlinger had a career-high seven assists with six points off the bench, and Gida contributed nine points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.

SOU's lead was 44-38 four minutes into the second half before Brenna Anderson started a 10-2 run with a jumper and Durand capped it with another one. The advantage never shrunk to single digits after that.

Meister had her double-double by halftime. In her last three games, the sophomore is averaging 19.3 points and 15.3 rebounds.

The Raiders got to the line for 41 attempts, making 26 of them, and held a 54-37 rebounding advantage.

Cal Maritime was led by Gabrielle Davis' 14 points. Shante Sands added 11 points and nine rebounds.

SOU also defeated Maritime in their first game of the season, 99-80, in Ashland.

The Raiders will be back in action at their own Flagship Inn Classic next Friday and Saturday against New Hope Christian and Northwest Indian. Both games will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
