KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University rode a 55 point first half to a 97-70 non-conference win over Quest University (B.C.) tonight.
 
NU would break out to an early 20-10 lead in the first 11 minutes of the half as Michael Greene would get into the lane for a layup. Michael Russo hit s 3-pointer at the 8:51 mark to increase the NU lead to 14 points, 29-15. Quest would battle back twice to cut the NU lead to 9 points, but the Eagles would go on an 14-4 run leading 35-26 to bump the lead to 49-30 with 1:59 left until halftime. Brett Skogstad would hit a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left on the clock to give the Eagles a 55-34 lead at the break.
 
Northwest would maintain an 17 to 19 points lead the entire half and freshman Dak Shagren’s offensive rebound and tip-in would increase the NU lead to 21 points at 76-55 with 10:55 to go in the game. Michael Greene would score two of his game high 25 points at the free throw line with 7:48 to go as the NU lead would grow to 25 (82-57). Cody Shackett would give Northwest their largest lead of the game with a trey and the Eagle lead would balloon to 94-63 as they would cruise to their second win of the season.
 
Michael Greene led all scorers with 25 points as the Eagles (2-1) had 5 players in double figures for the night. C.J. Carter added 16 and teammate Michael Russo dropped in 16 points. Senior Ryan McIntosh chipped in 14 while Nemanja Grujicic added 13 points. NU held a 49-28 edge in rebounding while shooting 53% for the night.
 
Quest was led by Connor Heinrichs 16 points while American Shedrick Nelson and his Canadian teammate Jose Colorado both scored 14 for the Kermodes (Spirit Bears). Quest shot 44% for the game.
 
The Eagles will now take a break until they travel to northern California on November 15 and 16 for a two game series with William Jessup.
