Red Lion Players of the Week Announced

The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 28 – November 3.
 
Women’s Basketball
 
Southern Oregon’s  Carly Meister has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the week.
 
Meister, a sophomore from Elma, Wash., posted team-highs in scoring both nights (16) while averaging 8.5 rebounds. Helped the Raiders win their season-opener for the seventh straight year and Lynn Kennedy get his 200th career win as a head coach.
 
Honorable mention: Brittney Newcomb, EOU; Hannah Frederick, NCU
 
Men’s Basketball
 
College of Idaho’s Joe Vaz has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the week.
 
Vaz, a junior from Vista, Calif., came off the bench with two dominating performances at the Quinn Classic, making 13-of-19 field goals, averaging 9.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks a night.  He averaged 16.0 ppg and 9.5 ppg in a pair of wins.

Women’s Soccer- Defensive
 
Northwest’s Patty Hughes has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Hughes, a junior from Kalispell, Mont., earned two more shutouts to bring her season total to 5 solo shutouts and sharing shutouts in 3 others as the Eagles defeated Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon by identical 1-0 scores.

Women’s Soccer- Offensive
 
Corban’s Audrey Sullivan has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Sullivan, a senior from Puyallup, Wash., netted the third hat trick of her career Thursday against Warner Pacific, as she became only the second Warrior in program history to score 50-or-more goals in a career. Sullivan leads Corban in all six offensive categories, while ranking in the Top 5 in the conference.

Men’s Soccer-Defensive
 
Corban’s Jordan Farr has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Farr, a freshman from Turner, Ore., picked up shutouts Nos. 9 & 10 this weekend against The College of Idaho and Oregon Tech, as the first-year Warrior became the second player in conference history to register 10-or-more shutouts in a single season. Farr is tied for the most shutouts this season in the NAIA, while sitting fourth overall among goalkeepers in Goals Against Average (GAA) with a team and conference-low 0.49.

Men’s Soccer-Offensive
 
Concordia’s Septi Danciu has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Danciu, a senior from Bristia, Romania, scored three goals last week and established a new Concordia school record for career goals (53). Last week, Danciu passed former CU greats Jarkko Tuominen (50 goals) and Eric Desenberg (52) for first-place on the career list. Leading the CCC in both categories, Danciu now has 15 goals and13 assists this season. His 2.53 points per game ranks Danciu 10th in the NAIA while his seven game-winning goals is one behind the NAIA national leader.

Volleyball- Defensive
 
College of Idaho’s Liz Myers has been named the Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Myers, a senior from Middleton, Idaho, had a huge weekend at the net recording a combined 16 blocks in the Yotes two matches including four stuff blocks in the Yotes second-straight win at Southern Oregon.

 Volleyball- Offensive
 
College of Idaho’s Emily Ottinger has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Ottinger, a junior from Palmdale, Calif., had a career-high 21 kills in the Lady Yotes big win at SOU, adding seven kills in a straight set win at Oregon Tech to average 4.00 kills per set on the weekend.
