PORTLAND, Ore—After reaching 90 points in three of its first four games, Concordia erupted for a school-record for total points in a 132-109 win at Multnomah University on Wednesday.

Concordia's previous single-game high also came against the Lions with a 130-90 win to open the 2009-10 season.

With the win, the Cavaliers improved to 4-1 on the year and now carry a 101.4 scoring average this season.

Seven different Cavs reached double figures with Adam Herman (Vancouver, Wash./Prairie H.S.) leading the way with 28 points after connecting on 13-of-15 attempts from the floor. Kory Kirwan (Hillsboro, Ore./Glencoe H.S.) missed just once in 10 chances for 18 points while Thomas Pierce (Gary, Ind./Roosevelt H.S.) and Esvan Middleton (Culver City, Calif./Culver City H.S.) scored 15 each. Justin Ramiriez chipped in with 12 while Anthony Holton (Portland, Ore./Sunset H.S.) added 10 as the Cavs opened up a 71-53 lead at the half.

Leading to a bulk of those points, Tyler Velasquez (Colorado Springs, Colo./Doherty H.S.) notched 17 assists on the night, a mark that hasn't been reached by a CCC player in at least seven seasons.

Concordia also dominated action on the boards, finishing with a 68-to-28 advantage as the Lions threw up 56 attempts from 3-point territory; making 18 for a 32.1 percent conversion rate.

Middleton led Concordia with 11 rebounds to complete the lone 'double-double' in the contest.

Steven Sansone led Multnomah with 28 points, hitting 4-of-15 from long range and 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Overall, Concordia shot 63 percent from the floor, compared to 39.8 for the Lions.

The Cavs will return to action Nov. 14 when it hosts New Hope Christian for its 2013-14 home opener.
