LA GRANDE, Ore. – With the top seed decided on an overtime winner on Saturday, the field for the 2013 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Championship presented by U.S. Bank has been set and will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013.
Corban University earned the top seed with a game-winner in the 93rd minute at Northwest, giving the Warriors the CCC regular season title with a record of 11-1-2 in conference and 14-1-2 overall. Corban will open the playoffs at home on Tuesday and would host the CCC Championship game with a win.
The second seed goes to Northwest University, who won a tiebreaker with Concordia by virtue of two wins this season over the Cavaliers. The Eagles finish the regular season with a record of 13-5-0 overall and 11-3-0 in conference play and will open up the postseason on Tuesday in Kirkland.
Northwest’s opening round opponent and the third seed is Concordia, who finished the regular season tied with NU for second following an 1-0 win at Oregon Tech on Saturday. The 2012 CCC regular season and tournament champions finished the 2013 regular season with a record of 14-4-0 overall and 11-3-0 in CCC play.
The fourth and final seed goes to College of Idaho, who used a 4-1 win over Warner Pacific to leapfrog Evergreen in the standings. The Yotes finished the regular season with a record of 6-8-0 in conference play at 6-12-0 overall and will travel to Salem, Ore. on Tuesday to take on top-seed Corban.
First-round games will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12 with the two advancing teams meeting on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the site of the highest remaining seed. The CCC tournament champion earns the conference’s automatic spot in the 2013 NAIA National Championship. Match times and game coverage links will be posted on cascadeconference.org when finalized.
